Projects
UWS’s programmes and projects are driven by the fact that the current trends of environment conservation and development initiatives are very unsustainable. In an effort to reverse the appalling conditions of poverty in the country, a lot of pressure is put on our natural resources in turn. As a result Uganda is faced with numerous environmental problems, which among others include deforestation, habitat loss, biodiversity loss, pollution, invasive species, human population pressures and wetland reclamation. UWS therefore designs and implements projects that enhance the conservation of our natural resources and at the same time contribute to livelihood improvement.

Volunteers: The Society makes use of volunteers who are mostly recruited from the membership. In this arrangement, the Society builds capacity of its members through giving them a chance to have hands-on experience in conservation project design, implementation and monitoring. Vacancies for volunteers are always advertised on the website.
