Re: Invitation to attend and participate in a UWS September 30th 2015 Policy Dialogue: Unlocking Tourism Potential of Greater Bukedi-Eastern Uganda; the Opportunities and, the Challenges.

Towards her Vision, Wildlife and Humans Living in Harmony and, within her mandate of promoting sustainable natural resource use and management through conservation oriented policy dialogues, advocacy, research and, community initiatives demonstrating linkages between conservation and people’s livelihoods, Uganda Wildlife Society (UWS) in collaboration with Makerere University Schools of Forestry, Environment and Geographical Sciences (SFEGS) and Biological Sciences (SBS), Busitema University-Namasagali Campus, Uganda Tourism Board and Ministry of Tourism Wildlife and Antiquities (MTWA) is convening a policy dialogue on Wednesday 30th September 2015.

The Dialogue will be held at Makerere University School of Forestry Environment and Geographical Sciences Conference Room, Starting at 1:30 pm. Topic to be discussed is unlocking tourism potential of Greater Bukedi-Eastern Uganda, the Opportunities and, the Challenges. Key speakers will include representatives of the academia (Makerere University -SFEGS and SBS, Busitema University-Namasagali Campus), UTB, MTWA and, UWS 2015 Student Interns.

The purpose of this communication therefore is to invite you and in particular request that you participate in the UWS public dialogue scheduled to take place on Wednesday September 30th 2015 at Makerere University-SFEGS Conference Room, Starting at 1: 30 PM. The Dialogue will be held at the Uganda Wildlife Society Secretariat Board Room on Plot 1521, Mawanda Road Kamwokya, Starting at 8:00 am, discussing the theme, Empowering Communities for Sustainable Natural Resource Use and Management in Uganda, Experiences and Lessons. Key speakers will include Associate Professor JBL Okullo (SFEGS) representing the Academia, Executive Directors (or representatives) of NFA and UWA representing Uganda’s Conservation Agencies and Dr Nyadoi Priscilla of UWS, representing the Civil Society Alliance – Ecosystem Alliance Uganda Country Programme Consortium Partners (UWS, AFIEGO and NAPE).
