Organisation of Women in Sciences for the Developing World (IWSD) recogonises Dr. Nyadoi Priscilla’s Conservation Works with UWS, on the Ocassion of the UN International Day of the Forests.
OWSD celebrates #womeninscience everyday all over the world. Today, on the International Day of Forests, we introduce to you Dr. Nyadoi Priscilla, a Forester an…d former OWSD PhD Fellow from Uganda. Currently, Nyadoi Priscilla is the Executive Secretary of Uganda Wildlife Society (www.uws.or.ug) while lecturing part-time in the Land Programme of the Department of Agricultural Production at the College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, Makerere University. In her work with the Uganda Wildlife Society, Dr. Nyadoi promotes the conservation of forests and other wildlife resources through community initiatives, research, advocacy and policy influence. To enhance further advocacy and policy influence opportunities with the UWS, Dr. Nyadoi has been granted a fellowship at the World Forestry Institute of the World Forestry Center in Portland, Oregon (USA), from April 2017 until October 2017. In this period she will be undertaking research on the impact of Oregon’s and Uganda’s Forestry Policies comparatively. She aims to find useful lessons, practices, projects and partnerships for enhancing forest, wildlife and related natural resources conservation in Uganda.
