What is the Uganda Wildlife Society?
Founded in 1998, after several years of operating as the East African Wildlife Society, Uganda Chapter, the Uganda Wildlife Society has been at the forefront of active conservation in Uganda. With members from academia, the public sector, the private sector and the general public, UWS is committed to promoting the conservation of wildlife and environment in Uganda.
UWS Organisational structure
The Society is managed under three important structures namely;
General Assembly: this is the supreme body of the
Society and consists of the entire membership of the Society. The
General Assembly determines general policies for fulfillment of the
object of the Society.
Executive Committee: this is responsible for policy
guidance and governance of the Society and the Secretariat in
particular. The Executive Committee is responsible to the General
Assembly.

Secretariat: this is responsible for the day to day running of the Society and is headed by the Executive Secretary. The Secretariat is guided by guidelines produced by the Executive Committee.
The Executive Secretary is curently on a study leave and therfore Patience Nyangoma is currently the Acting Executive Secretary.
